This literary kitty holds a quill and a scroll with an excerpt of Robert Burns’ famous poem, “To a Mouse,” and the year the poem was written. The mouse returns the compliment by inscribing the cat with lines from William Blake: “Tyger, Tyger.” On the inside are four letters from David Lawrence’s childhood toy printing press. The D, S, R and K stand for the members of the Lawrence family: David, Sue, Rose and Katie. The artist’s signature acorn lies amongst the pebbles. This is the 110th figurine David has carved for Harmony Kingdom. "Poet's Party" is the event piece for the summer 2003 in-store event, Poet's Party, to be held at select retailers the weekend of August 22, 23 and 24, 2003. |
