Disney Auctions is proud to present "Many Moods of Thumper," another in the long line of figurine boxes to emerge from their collaboration with Harmony Kingdom, the renowned U.K.-based manufacturer of these artistic collectibles. Officially authorized by Disney Auctions and sculpted in exacting detail by artist Theresa Miller, this enchanting resin box captures the various moods and attitudes of Bambi's best friend in seven different poses.

Produced in China, this unique collectible, a Disney Auctions exclusive available only on our website, was created in a limited edition of 500 pieces.

The first auction of 250 pieces will run from March 28, 2005 through April 7, 2005. The "Many Moods of Thumper" box is cast from molds made in the style of netsuke, a form of small sculpture that originated in Japan during the 17th century and became popular in Europe during the 19th century. Objects created in this style were often beautifully decorated with elaborate carving, lacquer work, or inlays of rare and exotic materials, including wood, ivory, precious metals and semi-precious stones. Today, contemporary netsuke of the finest quality are still being carved by artists throughout the world, exploring new techniques, new materials and new subject matter to create original works of art that reflect their own time and place.
